Concept Maps

Note: Telemakus mapping function requires Java JRE 1.3+ or higher.

At the bottom of the RESULTS PAGE, select MapIt!

The CONCEPT MAP that appears is a display of the concept relationships from all the documents retrieved.

The connected boxes labeled with concept terms are like those of an organizational chart, showing who reports to whom, horizontally, vertically and laterally.

There are 3 sliders on the TouchGraph LinkBrowser for changing the map view.
The toolbar allows you to change the function of the sliders to Zoom, Rotate and Locality.
In “Zoom” setting,
  • Top slider: expands or contracts the map.
  • Bottom slider: Horizontally moves the map.
  • Right-side slider: Vertically moves the map.
In “Rotate” setting,
  • Top slider: rotates the map.
  • Bottom slider: Horizontally moves the map.
  • Right-side slider: Vertically moves the map.
In “Locality” setting,
  • Top slider: expands or contracts an individual node.
  • Bottom slider: Horizontally moves the map.
  • Right-side slider: Vertically moves the map.
